YUHSD / YESD BYOD Certificate Installation

iOS

iPhone / iPad

Use Safari for the download. Chrome and other browsers may not trigger the profile installer correctly.

Tap Download Certificate, then tap Allow when Safari asks to download a configuration profile.
When you see Profile Downloaded, open the Settings app.
Tap Profile Downloaded near the top of Settings. If you do not see it, go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.
Tap Install, enter your passcode if prompted, then tap Install again to confirm the warning.
Tap Done. The certificate profile is installed, but it is not trusted yet.
Go to Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings.
Under Enable Full Trust for Root Certificates, turn on the switch for the ContentKeeper/YUHSD/YESD certificate, then tap Continue.

Mac

macOS

Administrator credentials are required to trust a root certificate for all users.

Click Download Certificate and save the file, usually to Downloads.
Open Keychain Access from Spotlight or from Applications > Utilities.
In the left sidebar, select the System keychain, not login.
Choose File > Import Items, select the downloaded certificate, and import it into the System keychain.
Enter an administrator username and password when prompted.
Find the imported ContentKeeper/YUHSD/YESD certificate and double-click it.
Expand Trust, change When using this certificate to Always Trust, then close the window.
Enter administrator credentials again to save the trust setting, then quit and reopen your browser.

Win

Windows 10 / 11

Use the Local Machine certificate store so browsers and network services can trust the certificate.

Click Download Certificate and save the file.
Open the downloaded certificate file, then click Install Certificate....
Select Local Machine, click Next, and approve the administrator prompt.
Select Place all certificates in the following store, then click Browse....
Choose Trusted Root Certification Authorities, click OK, then click Next.
Click Finish.
When the security warning appears, confirm the certificate is the district ContentKeeper root certificate, then click Yes.
Click OK on the success message and restart your browser.

And

Android

Menu names vary by manufacturer. These steps are written for current Pixel, Samsung, and similar Android devices.

Note: Android may warn that the network can be monitored or that a third-party certificate authority is installed. That warning is expected for SSL inspection. Some apps may still ignore user-installed certificates; this setup is primarily for browser access on the school network.

Tap Download Certificate and save the file to Downloads.
Open Settings and search for Install a certificate or Encryption & credentials.
If search does not find it, go to Security & privacy > More security settings > Encryption & credentials.
Tap Install a certificate. If asked what type, choose CA certificate. On some Android builds, the option may appear as Wi-Fi certificate.
Read the warning and tap Install anyway, Continue, or OK.
Select the downloaded certificate file. If the file picker cannot find it in Downloads, use the menu in the file picker to browse to the saved location.
Name the certificate YUHSD-YESD ContentKeeper if prompted, then confirm with your PIN, pattern, password, or biometrics.

CrOS

ChromeOS / Chromebook

These steps are for personal or unmanaged Chromebooks. ChromeOS certificate screens vary by version.

Click Download Certificate.
Open a new Chrome tab and go to chrome://certificate-manager. If that page is unavailable, use chrome://settings/certificates.
Open the section for certificate authorities or locally installed certificates.
Choose Import.
Select the downloaded certificate from Downloads.
When prompted, allow the certificate to identify websites or trust it for website identification.
Click OK or Done, then fully close and reopen Chrome.

Firefox

Install the certificate for your operating system first. Use these steps only if Firefox still shows certificate warnings.

First, install the certificate for your operating system using the Windows, macOS, Android, iPhone/iPad, or ChromeOS tab.
In Firefox, open the menu button and choose Settings.
Select Privacy & Security.
Scroll to Certificates.
Turn on Allow Firefox to automatically trust third-party root certificates you install, then restart Firefox.
If Firefox still shows certificate warnings, return to Privacy & Security > Certificates and click View Certificates....
Open the Authorities tab, click Import..., select the downloaded certificate, and check Trust this CA to identify websites.
Click OK, then close and reopen Firefox.
